Anyhoo, this year - 2012 (which is not the year this photo was taken) is the Queen's Diamond Jubilee year so events will take place around the country though dominating proceedings will be the flotilla of ships and the royal barge that will take to the river Thames. Also vying for attention will be the London staging of the Olympics coming to a tv screen near you very soon
