LONDON  LIGHTHOUSE MONUMENT (LONDON)

black and white photo view from atop London's Monument looking up to the heavens. The famous and historic Monument

column has had a recent renovation. It's my first time up the top and i was disappointed that there wasn't a facility

provided for photographers to get un-obscured  & mesh free - aerial photos across London. That said this photo was

one of the exceptions where i was happy to have the wire mesh which cast a shadow on the exterior of the column.

The Monument was built to commemorate the 'great' fire of London that allegedly started in a bakers shop in Pudding

Lane. The height of this historic column corresponds to distance from where the fire began. Construction of the

commemorative column began in 1671 and was completed in 1677
